I'm a pragmatist, which frustrates the hell out of some people, because I look for the simplest, straightest solution; ergo, I could never survive in the United States Congress. I'm a realist, which actually means several things. I reject moral relativism and generally take a fairly cynical and sarcastic view towards the world. However, I do believe that most people are redeemable, but some criminals do deserve the ultimate punishment. Ever since the 2008 General Election, I've found myself somewhere between Republicanism and Libertarianism, hence, "Republitarianism". I support an interventionist foreign policy but am against the growth of government at any level. Bankruptcy is always an option, but some corporations have become so bloated that letting them fail would do more harm than good. I'm very anti-union; I feel unions are an obsolete method of employee-employer communication and negotiation and end up maiming those they claim to support (case in point: the UAW and Big Auto). Spending with abandon will get you nowhere; I can attest to this personally. Hope is the only reason I get out of bed these days: a hope that today will be better than the last, a hope that I will talk to my loved ones, a hope that I will survive to wake another day.
